Veyron

Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engine grand touring car produced by Volkswagen Group subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS and was introduced in 2005 as the fastest production car in the world. It is currently one of the fastest accelerating and decelerating production cars in the world, with a 0 -100- 0 time of 8.6 seconds and, at 1.1 million Euro (1.5 million USD), it is also one of the most expensive cars in the world. Powered by a 736-kilowatt (1,001 PS; 987 hp) W16 engine,[2] it can reach 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph).[3] The car reached full production in September 2005, and is handcrafted in a factory Volkswagen built near the former Bugatti headquarters in Château St Jean in Molsheim (Alsace, France). It is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti company. Two examples of the Veyron are known to have been wrecked since production began.[4]

s2000-cr-header

Premier Performance
Nothing exemplifies Honda racing skill and ingenuity like the S2000 CR “Club Racer.” A firmer suspension, quicker steering ratio and fully functional front and rear spoilers have been specially designed to connect driver, vehicle and road.
Compete
The CR is a true competitor. Feel free to maximize its potential at club racing events.
Performance
A purist’s dream, the factory-tuned CR sports an aerodynamic design and stiffer suspension settings for increased rigidity and downforce. The CR proudly draws upon the S2000’s racing heritage, but delivers more in terms of sheer performance.
Lighter
With racecar-like suspension and lower weight, the CR’s performance is second to none. Drivers rave about its cornering, braking and acceleration. To accomplish this, the audio system and air conditioning are offered as options and the spare tire has been replaced with a tire-repair kit. Rinspeed iChange: Shape-Shifting Solar Car

Rinspeed iChange: Shape-Shifting Solar Car

Swiss car manufacturer Rinspeed recently announced that they will be showing off a car lined with solar panels that is capable of changing shape to suit the number of passengers that are in the vehicle. Dubbed the iChange, the innovative vehicle will be showcased at this year’s Geneva auto show.

While they do not get any points for the name, the Rinspeed iChange won us over with its slick styling and bevy of Eco-friendly features. The concept is a lightweight electric vehicle that is capable of going from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, and achieving a top speed of 220km/h. It can run for approximately 90 kilometers on one charge. As with many concept vehicles nowadays, the vehicle has been fitted with solar panels on the roof and sides. These recharge the batteries and assist with temperature control.

The car’s most remarkable feature is its ability to accommodate a number of passengers depending on the need. Normally the vehicle will run with just one passenger. However, should the need arise, the rear of the vehicle opens up to reveal two more spaces. Needless to say, it looks really cool.

We’ve all heard rumours of a Spec V version of R35 Godzilla, known to many as the Nissan GT-R. Best Car has now rendered the car, based on leaked inside into from Nissan.

Spec V is the superformance version of an already pumped up sports car. By using several techniques even more performance can be wringed out of the GT-R. Of utmost vitality is that the car goes through a weight-loss programme, which means it may lose up to 100kg, which is the equivalent of a fully grown adult male of average weight. “Lose the man, lose the milliseconds” is Spec V thought.

Typically extra revisions include improved suspension, advanced roll cage and a reprogrammed all-wheel-drive system, named ATTESA-ETS. Power is said to be up to 382kW/ 512 bhp, coupled with an all-carbon fiber body, should make the Spec V not only quick as far more expensive super cars, but only handle even better than its Clark Kent self around challenging places like the Nurburgring. Steering should also be more direct.

NISMO 350Z

NISMO 350Z

It has finally arrived! The 2007 NISMO 350Z. This car is for the Z enthusiast looking for a higher level of handling, stability, steering precision and response than the base model car. If it’s overall performance you’re looking for, look no further. Some folks reach for the “go” and some want the “show”. This car has it all right from Nissan.

Some of the ”GO” upgrades include a NISMO-tuned suspension that boasts 35% more rigidity, NISMO forged super light alloy wheels by RAYS Engineering (18? front, 19? rear), Brembo brakes with 4-piston front/2-piston rear calipers and 306bhp engine (unchanged) with a NISMO-tuned exhaust
For “show” there is a NISMO aerodynamics package including side skirts, a new front fascia with chin spoiler, a new rear fascia with rear diffuser, custom rear wing spoiler and chrome exhaust tips. In the cockpit instrument panel houses a white-face NISMO cluster with enough reading for a commercial airline pilot. The interior also includes NISMO floor mats, red and black cloth upholstered sports seats, red stitching on the steering wheel and door panels and an aluminum etched numbered plate identifying your exact production number. How is that for “special edition”?

Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss edition announced

Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss edition announced

Mercedes has revealed the final version of its SLR McLaren sports car, which will be named after Sir Stirling Moss, who drove for the team in the 1950s.

Just 75 examples of the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss will be built. This most powerful version of the SLR, a joint production with McLaren, has 650bhp and a projected 0-100kph (62mph) time of 3.5 seconds. See below for more pictures of the car and the press release.

What is most striking about the car is its windowless, open-topped configuration which harks back to sports cars of old.

The SLR Stirling Moss has a top speed of 350kph (217mph) and will sell for €750,000 (£709,000). It goes into production in June next year.

Moss drove for Mercedes in 1955, famously winning the British Grand Prix at Aintree that year, though he never knew whether team mate Juan Manuel Fangio had gifted him the win.

Ford Fiesta ECOnetic Diesel

Ford Fiesta ECOnetic Diesel
At the British International Motor Show, Ford has introduced the ECOnetic version of its Ford Fiesta. The engine is a 1.6-liter Duratorq TDCi (diesel) that has been tweaked for efficiency. Fuel economy for the ECOnetic Fiesta is 3.7 L/100km (63.6 mpg US) combined, or 3.2 L/100km (73.5 mpg US) on the highway! It's not exactly a race car, with 0 to 60 mph in 12 seconds, but those who will buy it won't care, the mileage will more than make up for it.

Fuel Saving Tricks
The ECOnetic Fiesta uses a bunch of tricks to reduce fuel consumption, things like improved aerodynamics (its coefficient of drag is 0.33), weight reduction, low rolling resistance tires, and enhanced lubrication. Simple enhancements that could be used on most cars.
